Year 10 and 11 School Based Traineeships
School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs) are perfect for high school students who want to get a head start on their career. SATs allow high school students to combine school and training with working in a real job, with a real boss, for a real wage.
North Bundaberg State High School has a number of School based Traineeships currently on offer.

School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs) allow high school students, generally in Years 10, 11 and 12, to work for an employer and train towards a recognised qualification, while completing their secondary schooling and studying for their Queensland Certificate of Education and/or Overall Position (OP) score.

The Friendly Society Private Hospital would like to offer a Certificate II in Horticulture as a School Based Traineeship to a current year 11 student  (2 days a week). The student can email resumes directly to the employer as detailed below. Cut off date is COB 24th March 2017.

Certificate II in Horticulture
TYPE OF VACANCY: School Based Traineeship. The trainee will undertake a variety of duties, including:
 maintaining plants and planted areas
 operating equipment and machinery
harvesting and treating plants
 constructing horticultural features
 applying chemical and biological agents
 maintaining irrigation and drainage systems .
 REQUIREMENTS ARE: Must have genuine interest to work, Be Positive, Reliable, Quick Learning.
Must be currently enrolled in Year 11
BENEFITS OF TRAINEESHIP:  Earn and Learn whilst finishing school with On the Job training:
Mentoring and Support if required.

• Available to work every Second Saturday

Maxima, in partnership with ANZ Bank have an opportunity for recent school leavers to undertake a fulltime traineeship as a Personal Banker. The traineeship is linked to a Nationally Recognised CIII in Financial Services and we have an opportunity in Bundaberg and also in Pialba, Hervey Bay. These present a fantastic opportunity for a young person to kick start their careers in the Banking, Insurance and Finance industry with a number of previous trainees going on to permanent roles in Personal Banking and Management.
Primarily these opportunities are for indigenous young people but if there is not adequate initial interest the opportunity will be opened to all applicants. please apply via

Applications for our popular Start Uni Now (SUN) program are open for Term 1, 2017 commencing March. 
SUN is an innovative program inviting students in Year 10*, 11 and 12 to study CQUniversity degree-level courses whilst still in high school. Students can study up to four units, either on-campus or online.
A range of new units and study areas have been updated for 2017 in the areas of Creative Arts, Engineering, Agriculture and more.
Nash Upholstery and Trim Repair (Furniture upholstery) Svensson Heights is offering a School Based Traineeship in Cert III Upholstery. 
Suitable year 10 or 11 students must enjoy practical work, interested in pattern cutting and sewing and general upholstery skills.

  Registrations for UMAT (Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test) 2017 are open. Information booklets can be downloaded from the UMAT website . The test date for 2017 is the 26th of July and registrations close on the 2nd of June, 2017.
