Bring your own device

North Bundaberg State High School is committed to maximising the use of current and emerging technologies within our classrooms to provide positive learning and educational benefits for our students. Innovation and technological skills are what separate students who are prepared for increasingly complex life and work environments in today’s world and those who are not.
To increase access to technology across the school we implemented a ‘Bring Your Own Device’ (BYOx) program in 2016 for all year levels (Year 7 – 12). A BYOx program is one where students bring their school approved device (e.g. laptop, tablet, iPad etc.) to school each day to assist with their learning.
Our goal for the program is that students use these devices as a tool in every class to support key processes in learning - accessing, organizing, processing and publishing information, collaboration, creativity and communication, and for teachers to use them as an environment to facilitate deeper engagement in learning and higher-ordering thinking.
If you already have a Windows or Apple Laptop purchased within the last year or have an iPad 2, 3, 4, iPad Air or iPad Mini, these devices should meet the minimum curriculum and network requirements. It is vitally important that you first check that your device meets the minimum specifications. These specifications are required to run school based applications and can be found on this page.
Should you require any further information or have any concerns or questions about the BYOD program, please contact the school on 4130 0222 and speak to Liam Kronk, or email
